How earnings work
A share of the month, not a price tag.
Customers pay a subscription and download as much as they like, so there's no per-sale price to split. Instead, half of what they pay becomes the contributor pool — and the pool is divided by downloads.
Download more, earn more. That is the whole rule. You get the working, not just a number: when the month closes every line is one you can check.
- What counts
- A download of one of your paid assets by a subscriber, once the month has closed.
- What never counts
- Downloads of your own work, automated traffic, and free assets. Nobody can inflate their slice by downloading themselves.
- When the numbers settle
- On the last day of the month. Once a period closes its figures are frozen — they are never quietly recalculated later.
- What you can see
- Every download that counted toward your share, and the arithmetic that turned it into a payment.

Figures here are an example. What is fixed is the 50% and the method: downloads of your work, over downloads of everyone's. Your own downloads and automated traffic never count toward it.
The split
Half of it is
yours.
50% of net subscription revenue goes straight into the contributor pool every month. Not a tier you climb to, not a rate that moves — the number in your agreement.
On most subscription marketplaces the money a contributor actually sees per download lands in the low single digits, whatever the headline royalty rate says.
of subscription revenue, into the contributor pool
what a contributor effectively sees per subscription download
Comparison refers to the effective share of a subscription download, not a site's headline royalty rate — several publish higher rates that apply to single-image licences rather than subscription plans. Brandex's 50% is of net subscription revenue and is set in the contributor agreement.
Why contribute here
The terms most marketplaces won't give you.
| Brandex | Typically elsewhere | |
|---|---|---|
| Revenue share | 50% of net subscription revenue goes into the contributor pool. | Single-digit effective share on subscription downloads |
| Exclusivity | Non-exclusive. Sell the same file anywhere else, at no penalty. | Best rates locked behind exclusivity |
| Rejections | A specific reason every time, and the submission stays editable. | A canned no with nothing to act on |
| Your files before approval | Private storage, no public URL exists until an asset goes live. | Uploaded straight to a public CDN path |
| How the split is worked out | Period closes, numbers freeze, you see which downloads counted. | A rate that changes without notice |
| Padded numbers | Self-downloads and automated traffic stripped before any split. | Bot traffic quietly inflates the pool |
Questions, answered
Not sure your work fits? Apply anyway — reviewing an application costs you nothing.
How much do I earn?+
Brandex customers pay a subscription for unlimited downloads, so nothing carries a per-sale price to split. Each month 50% of net subscription revenue becomes the contributor pool, and you receive the portion matching your share of that month's downloads. The 50% is fixed in the contributor agreement.
Can I sell the same asset elsewhere?+
Yes. The licence you grant is non-exclusive and you keep ownership of everything you upload. There is no rate penalty for selling the same file on other marketplaces.
What happens if my upload is rejected?+
You get the specific reason — quality, a duplicate already in the catalogue, wrong category, or a metadata problem — plus any note the reviewer added. Rejected submissions stay editable, so you fix and resubmit rather than starting again.
Who can see my files before they're approved?+
Only the review team. Uploads go to storage with no public address at all, and stay there until an asset is approved.
How long does review take?+
A person opens every submission, so it depends on the queue. Contributors who build a clean approval record move to faster handling.
